My 3 YouTube Finds

Hello and welcome back!

I’m sure like myself you find yourself down a rabbit-hole of one YouTube video after another. This newsletter is dedicated to that nightly ritual. I’ve gathered my 3 favorite YouTube videos from my 3 favorite creators. Show them some love, and hope you enjoy!

1 - Crime Stats are a Lie

There are a lot of stats thrown around everyday, and we like to check in on stats to try to understand what we should expect from the world. A lot of times though, the stats given to us don’t truly paint the entire picture.

This video dives into why the crime stats given to us by the media may not be exactly representative of the truth. Try to keep this in mind the next time you are looking through a presentation and ask the probing questions to truly understand the underlying data and what it means.

2 - True Scale of Data

I love data, and love a good visual, and this video does both! A great representation of how data storage has improved and developed over the years. The guys at Corridor Crew are masters of VFX, and I love watching how they explain even the simplest topics

3 - Best “Guess Who” Strategy

One of my favorite things to do is to find out the best strategy to any game I’m playing. Whether it’s Catan or even a game of hide-n-seek. This video shows just that. How we can use probability and statistics to get an edge in a simple child’s game.

Hope these videos don’t lead you down an hours long session of random YouTube watching, but I DO hope that you learned something fun and interesting. What are some of your favorite YouTube finds? Would love to hear from you all! Just simply reply to this email.
